WHOLESALE IN A BOX IS HIRING!
(AND WE CAN'T WAIT TO HEAR FROM YOU.)
About us:
Wholesale In a Box is a new, small, and growing company. We offer a subscription software and training service that helps makers (like folks you might see on Etsy) get their work into stores. We help our makers to grow their businesses and pursue their dreams. You can see more at wholesaleinabox.com.
Our values:
Integrity comes first.
Overcommunication is good communication.
People over process/profit/product.
Strength comes from responding, adapting, experimenting, and doing a lot with a little.
We’re professionals -- internally and externally.
We bring our true selves to the work.
A reality of our company right now is that we’re changing fast, growing fast, and learning on the fly. That means that our team members need to be able to adapt, problem-solve, deal with some amount of ambiguity, and stay positive and solutions-oriented when things are challenging.
Honest reviews of what it’s like to work at Wholesale In a Box:
Curious what it’s actually like working here? Here are some quotes from our team:
“WIAB is SO amazing to work for, mainly because of our company culture. I love that we want the best for our customers and for each other, professionally and personally. So that means that we're always aiming to help people, and make their lives better (and we do that through improving our product, too). If I'm stressed, I just think to myself "I get to *help* people today." - Simone

“I love having a clear idea of what tasks I need to complete in a given week, but that I am able to organize my schedule on what works best for me. Even though the role is remote, I feel very supported and highly value the open communication our team has.” - Genevieve
About the Community content Pro we're looking for:
This is a unique role in that it combines several skills and project types in one role. The majority of your time will be spent writing-- mostly materials that help makers grow their businesses and feel inspired and supported. Projects might include things like:
Writing articles and content for digital courses, blog posts, and web in collaboration with others on the team.
Writing educational materials for our customers, using an outline and source material.
Designing simple graphics and layouts that are beautiful and communicate well.
Refining and executing marketing strategies around content, website optimization, and social media.
For marketing projects, we’ll provide you with a strategy and general approach, and you’ll be responsible for refining that strategy, figuring out how to execute it, and creating the necessary content and technology structures to support it. For content projects, we’ll provide the strategy and outline or rough draft of the content and you’ll do additional research, writing, editing, and structuring to flesh out the pieces.
In addition to the other skills listed in this job description, you'll also need to be able to learn new software -- nothing super technical, but the tools we use do have a learning curve and it's likely you won't have used them before. We use Drip for email marketing, Canva, Google Suite, Squarespace, Basecamp, and several other tools. We're looking for someone who is excited to learn new skills and get better over time -- and who is great at communicating with a team on successes and challenges in the work.
You are:
An exceptional writer. A professional, warm, effective writer and communicator. You have excellent written and spoken English skills. You can adapt your tone and approach to stay within our brand voice.
Solutions-minded. Constantly looking for things that are out of place or could be improved and coming up with ideas to improve them.
Culturally sophisticated. You have a “gut sense” for trends in fashion, design and handmade products and are excited and interested to learn more. Perhaps you are a maker yourself.
Detail oriented. To you, the small things are important and you take pride in getting them right. You’re naturally gifted with grammar, spelling, sentence structure, and clear communication.
Self-directed. You are very good at managing your own time, tackling unfamiliar projects, and staying motivated when working by yourself.
Willing to learn. Naturally a reader, you are excited to learn about different marketing methods and the world of makers.
Specifics about the job:
Details: This Independent Contractor position is a part-time job that we expect to last for a long time to come. Hours will average 3-10 hours per week, but may vary a lot week to week, with some weeks with very little work and others with more. As we grow, there will likely be the opportunity to work more hours per week and to expand the role you play here. We need you to be available during weekdays and have approximately 24-hour turnaround time on tasks (on weekdays only). Other than that, you can set your own hours, but it's important that you're able to be responsive via email very reliably (within that 12-24 hour turnaround time) and that you're available every weekday unless you've arranged to be off in advance. You need to have a well-functioning laptop with a great internet connection.
Employment structure: This role may start as an Independent Contractor position but may shift into an part-time employee position, depending on the makeup of the projects you end up taking on. The role is open to anyone around the world. That said, if you are not a US resident/citizen (or a US citizen living abroad, with a US address you can use as your “permanent address”), then you would need to be paid via FreeeUp, which would deduct 7.5% from your pay.
